I have rip my skin open a couple of times,
bleed almost to death
just to erase every inch of your touch and kisses from my body
every piece of me that screams for your embrace
I wanted it gone.
but my skin grew back, thicker that before
making my efforts fruitless
bruises and scars hangs on my soul as trophies of my love for you
that I can nolonger profess
so I decided to engulf myself on fire
to burn away this version of me
that nolonger served me
I closed my eyes and let the fire consume me
every fibre of my being till it became ashes,
vulnerability, fragility and obsession
till it were reduced to nothing
I sat there a little longer than am supposed to
just to ensure that the flames got everything.
and like phoenix I rise.
from the ashes of what used to be
