Good and Evil

God is love—pure, unwavering light,
The calm in the storm, the day in the night.
He speaks with thunder, yet comforts with grace,
His mercy pours down in every place.
A whisper of peace, a shield in the fire,
He lifts the lowly, He calls us higher.
The Enemy creeps in shadows unseen,
A serpent of lies, cruel and unclean.
He paints what is poison to look like gold,
Twisting the truth, deceiving the soul.
He feeds on fear, and thrives on doubt,
Tearing what God so gently brought out.
God is the Shepherd, the Father, the Friend,
The Alpha, Omega—the start and the end.
He gives life freely, with breath from above,
He moves in justice, and reigns in love.
He heals what’s broken, restores the torn,
Turns ashes to beauty, the sinner reborn.
But the Enemy comes with a sugar-tipped knife,
To drain your joy and distort your life.
He’s hatred is intertwined in a tempting song,
Convincing the weak to follow the wrong.
He hides in pride, in bitterness, sin,
Smiles on the outside, but dark within.
Like oil and vinegar, they’ll never combine,
One is the truth, the other gives light, the other takes,
One builds bridges, the other breaks.
You’ll know them both by what they bear—
God brings freedom, the Enemy, snare.
So choose the voice that calls with peace,
That bids the troubled soul release.
For though the battle may rage and roar,
God stands firm—forevermore.
