O

GOOD FRIDAY

Am I a rock, and not an animal,
That I can stand, O Christ,
beneath you cross
and count the drops of your blood,
and yet not weep?
like those women loved
who with exceeding grief lamented you,
like fallen peter weeping bitterly,
even that thief who were moved.
Even sun and moon,
hiding there faces in starless sky.
A horror of great darkness,
at broad noon
But I only I
Made you undergo all of this pain,
rejected you and your word
accused and betray you,
but you have choose to shed your blood
today and that's why have been saved
and now am white as snow.
