No matter the time of the day, I'll forever say good morning
It sounds absurd, but a smile is unleashed if you were frowning
Dumb joke, it worked on my peers while I was still growing
If I shared it with them, why not should I share it with my honey?
'Mind the time Young man', my English teacher always reprimanded
It got to me at first, but as time went by, I no longer minded
Right greetings at a wrong time, 'By your flaws, you will be haunted'
But it is not a flaw until it is corrected
And when it is what I intended
A smile upon someone's face, their day has enlightened
But I stopped using it on strangers for I felt threatened
Then I met you, its meaning changed into something I had not anticipated
I couldn't understand it no more, so I investigated
For I couldn't leave it unattended
The results, beyond the hypothesis, they were unexpected
No matter the time of the day, to you I'll still say good morning
For without speaking to you, my day has not yet started
To you my dear, I say,"good morning"
