Yesterday we said our goodbyes
There was laughter and tears
It was one of my hardest years
But there are things I can't deny
I made through each valley
Mountains and hills are behind
And at 12 midnight I set you free
To see what more is there to find
We had ups and we had downs
There were times I felt so alone
But through it all, I'm still here
And the one thing is so clear
I'm not here because of me
I have no control over anything
I count each day as a blessing
There's beauty in all I see
I won't linger in the past
From today I'm giving my best
So when I say good bye this year
I won't hesitate or fear
