Growing Pains

I grew up before my time,
Change came rushing like Heatwave
Just like debris washed up by sea waves
and pretence was no longer an option.
Mama had nothing, Papa didn't care
until he walked out,
and i knew i had to grow up before my time,
i never had the chance to be a little girl,
I faked a smile when i see my siblings smiling,
Little they had no idea it was the Battle of Survival.
I stand out from other Kids,
I not know having fancy stuff,
I stand out from other Girls,
Boys couldn't couldn't look at me twice,
Yet i stand top on my school grades,
and little did i know it was a blessing in disguise.
Mama break her back to feed us and get me through school,
and i promised her i will keep my good grades.
The house we lived in was done for,
When it rains, Heavens, it pours!!
But i kept on smiling and said Mama one day it will be Ok.
Papa was out there,
Living a lavish life with his new family
though he used to Blab about me out there,
I asked God,Have i done something wrong for you to pour such anger?
I couldn't get an answer then
But today I thank God for choosing me.
Papa striked by Cancer,
They said his las words were my name,
May his soul rest in peace,
For I thank him for his decisions,
They groomed me to be the better woman i am today,
But gone too soon!
Call it Black Tax,
I call it a Testimony,
They looked down on me back then,
and today they swoon over me.
I am content, Luke 1: 45
God Always Has a plan , Proverbs 19: 21.
