I thought you were
a friend,
that cares so much
the day you cooled
my body after labour.
The tree crops gave you
a warm welcome
on arrival.
the snails frowned
with disdain
because of fear of
hibernation,
oh yes! the reptiles
also shrugged,
the corn in shallow
holes are jailed.
You go about with
knives like a warrior.
always at war with
the pretty ones.
you often leave a
scar on the lips
of those you kiss in
pleasure.
you draw line on
the skin more than the
best of artists in
the world. Ladies
now stamped
themselves at the make-up
shops just to erase your
writings.
no one laughs
deeply again
because of your
fear. you make the
heels of little kids
look like a shopping
board. No thanks to
you for your rudeness.
Harmattan! indeed you have
harmered
our town without Mercy!
my throat always
pleading for forgiveness even as you
switch on the thirst botton; but remember I won't run from
Town because of your tthreat.
