I like being alone not feeling alone
It's hardest for me when sunset comes
My itty bitty puppy Shatzie will try
To ease me by standing up to my lap
That's her way of saying "Pick me up"...
So she lays her head on my shoulders
Closes her deep chocolate brown eyes
As I gently pet her my mind will
Slowly calm and find inner peace...
Tomorrow will be her second birthday
As it will also be another's special day
For about the length of days
That I have known she
She has also become special to me...
