As I swam ashore on this cold winter night
I am reminded of a tale told by an old castle knight
Of the his last expedition for his dearest maiden
As fairest she was like the sun her beauty he sings
Like Icarus he fell ding - dong the bell rings
Down to his grave for he sold her his soul
Alas, bewitched he mourns like an owl
The oceans comfort me like one of his own
Death won't have me he says with a frown
It reminds me to listen and learn
The sky is blue and life is what you earn
The knight was me, the night i seek
Beneath the grave my heart reeks
Of forgotten lullabies and messages unsent
The world is a stage, the actors content.
