Nobody sees me,
no one even cares to,
sometimes I don't want them to look,
to spare me a glance,
I am fine here at the back of the room,
pressing myself into the wall,
the cool cement against my back,
I could hug this wall,
embrace it with my arms,
hide my face in it,
hope it hugs me back,
slide into it's cool chalky embrace,
let it swallow me whole,
I stand rigid, ready to hide behind the body in front of me,
I want to disappear.
Don't look at me,
just pass me by,
I am hoping your eyes don't halt at me,
I am here, but I don't want to be,
do not see me,
or my shoulders rolled forward and hunched,
I want to roll myself into a ball,
I am trying to hide,
I need to hide,
I am not here,
I want to take a seat on the ground,
away from all the prying eyes,
more comfortable surrounded by lower limbs,
looking ahead and seeing trousers, denim rips and styles that vary,
and shoes of every kind,
leave me here, hidden away by a mass of bodies,
leave me here to sit,
and hide away,
far from everyone and everything,
in my own world,
running through a bright green field,
I am chasing my dreams.
