This is a figurative Story, That just shows that it was my sin that held Jesus on the cross, not the nails.
The governor declared him innocent,
Yet I called for a thief's deliverance,
Instead of my Savior's innocence.
I gave Him a crown of thorns,
By my hand His skin was torn.
I am the murderous soldier,
Who could've said "no" to his master's order.
I scourged the King,
And in my head His cries still ring.
I'm the one who held the nail,
And caused His mother to wail.
By my hand the Son of God was crucified,
When it was I who should've died.
I put an innocent man to His death,
When I was the one who should've taken my last breath.
Jesus said "Forgive them"
I cried "Crucify Him!"
Jesus said "It is finished."
I'm the Sinner who received Forgiveness.
I fall to my knees,
With hammer in hand,
The Son of God,
declared me Forgiven.
