Whenever she would come to visit him, she would leave her footprints in the sand.
He knew she had come around, she knew he would understand.
That was her message to him, he would follow the prints til there was no more.
She would be sitting there pretty, all galore.
They would never be able to be together.
Their worlds are not forever.
They took advantage of the time they could share.
Some would say that it is not fair.
They knew it in their hearts that they loved one another.
But with two different worlds, they will never be together.
The warm sand under their feet,
Makes their worlds easier to meet.
One day the footprints stopped appearing in the sand.
His torn heart, couldn't understand.
They both knew that this wasn't forever.
They knew they could never be together.
But that didn't stop his heart from hurting, he knew someday their meetings would come to an end.
But still his heart may never mend.
