Hold me Gently

If you love me,
Take care of my heart,
And please just be careful,
Don't let it fall apart.
The mind of a growing human,
But still looked on as young,
Trim the candle of fame,
But don't let me run.
Hold my heart in your hands,
Don't let it fall,
Let it be part of your plans,
Please don't let it be nothing at all . . .
I may be young and foolish,
But to think my heart couldn't break,
Would simply be wrong,
I'd be drowning in my own lake.
Don't clink the glass too hard,
Or else I'll break apart,
Please be gentle,
With my youthful heart 💙
