Growing up I've always been close to my Lord
Living everyday of my life
In this storm
Walking around in them shoes
That were too big to fill
I can't believe I'm sitting here
Wondering what's the deal
I don't see smiles on nobody's faces
Living among all God's beautiful races
When will people learn to settle down
And share graceness
But, all that aside
I'm just thankful to be alive
But one day
When I do die
I hope to live in the sky
Because there ain't no gift
The devil can give
But just to convince the world
He doesn't exist
People walking the road
Getting pistol whipped
Getting their life taken away
Before they got the chance to have kids
I can't believe how God's green earth really is
People that get life
And are getting the chair
Or back in the day
When they hung the slaves up in the air
The only question you should ask
Is why ain't life fair
Now i know i haven't lost no one close yet
But when that day comes
I know I'm gonna' regret
But, when I die
I hope to meet 'em in the sky
So we can spend the rest of eternity
In a better life
Or better yet
In a brighter light
And there ain't no greater gift
The Lord can give
But to grant entrance to you
To forever live with Him
But what about those people
That get their heart broke
Falling in love with another joke
Or the select few
That the only thing they know
Is what it feels like
To die alone
Or people that get hooked on
Crack, meth and hairon
And don't know why else
The circle of life just goes on
But my heart goes out
To all my brothers and all my sisters
That one day you will
All just be delivered
But it's just not like that
Some people go to Heaven
And others just can't write back
But when I die
There ain't no greater gift that i can wish for
Except to live side by side with Him
