Hourglass

I saw the sun rise this morning
For the first time in some while
Took out some old photographs
They sure did make me smile
I can't help but wonder
How life will be once I'm gone
Will the rights I made be enough
To outdo the wrongs
Chorus:
If my hourglass was running out
Down to the last piece of sand
Would I be missed by people
Would anyone be sad
Have I done anything worth
Remembering my whole life
What if I were to go right now
Oh I wonder what it'll be like
When my hourglass runs out
Will I have myself a beautiful girl
With a few children of my own
Would I be surrounded by tons of people
Or will I be all on my own
If my life was wearing thin
My time almost done
Would I be on someone's mind
Or instantly forgotten
If my hourglass was running out
Down to the last piece of sand
Would I be missed by people
Would anyone be sad
Have I done anything worth
Remembering my whole life
What if I were to go right now
Oh I wonder what it'll be like
When my hourglass runs out
Have I spent too much time
Wasting it on my needs
Crying every single night
Especially when I can't sleep
Have I found grace in God's eyes
Or have I been drifting too far apart
Will people say bad things about me
Or will they see me with a kind heart
If my hourglass was running out
Down to the last piece of sand
Would I be missed by people
Would anyone be sad
Have I done anything worth
Remembering my whole life
What if I were to go right now
Oh I wonder what it'll be like
When my hourglass runs out
