I hurt myself today,
Yet I felt no pain,
The numbness smothers,
It's an emotional stain,
Refusing to fade,
As the marks build,
It's an injuring presence,
That's never healed,
I hurt myself today,
Just to try and feel,
Any attempts to obtain,
A lifeline to what's real,
Every mark I leave behind,
A failure in my eyes,
And the hope inside of me,
Fades away and kinda dies,
I've hurt myself today,
Yet I feel no pain,
The numbness has returned,
Time to hurt myself again.
