I don’t look at others to determine how far I’ve come or how far I still need to go. I’ve learned to fix my eyes on the path that was carved specifically for me. There’s a kind of life I’m looking out for, a purposeful, grace-driven, and divinely orchestrated life. That kind of life cannot be rushed, compared, or patterned after someone else’s journey.
I don’t do what others do because grace differs. Purpose differs. Timing differs. We may share the same age, the same background, or even the same struggles, but we are not wired the same. What works for them may drown me. What elevates them may delay me. So while others are busy doing this and that, following trends, and trying to keep up with the noise of the world, I choose stillness. I choose silence. I choose to go against the flow.
I go against the flow not because I want to stand out, but because I want to stand right, right in the middle of God’s plan for me. I’ve realized that following the crowd can make me lose myself. And in a world where everyone is trying to be seen, I’m more concerned about being aligned, aligned with grace, truth, and purpose.
There are seasons when everyone seems to be shining, and your own life looks hidden. It’s in those moments that I remind myself: seeds grow in silence. I am not late; I am not behind. I am simply in preparation. What I carry is different, so the process must be different too.
Yes, it’s tempting to compare. It’s tempting to doubt myself when I see others achieving what I have prayed for. But I’ve trained my heart to trust that my journey is not on pause, it’s on purpose. I’ve learned to celebrate others while staying faithful to my own process.
I walk in the confidence that I am covered by a grace that doesn’t run out. A grace that knows my name, my needs, and my next move. That’s why I move differently. That’s why I don’t jump at every opportunity or join every wave. I’m not here to impress, I’m here to impact.
So no, I won’t always be where others are. And no, I won’t always do what they do. I’ll keep walking in obedience, trusting that what’s mine will meet me at the right time. I’m not in a race with anyone. I’m in alignment with destiny. And that’s more than enough for me.
