I Can

I Can

A little whisper, soft and low,

When shadows gather and the doubts grow.

It isn't a shout, or a sudden bright flare,

Just a quiet strength, knowing you're there.

The mountain seems steep, the path hard to find,

But deep in your spirit, a courage is twined.

Forget the "shoulds," and forget the "must try,"

Just breathe out the worry, and look to the sky.

It waits in your hands, in the will that you keep,

A promise you make, even when you're asleep.

No need to be perfect, no need to excel,

Just the gentle affirmation: "I can," and it is well.
