Things happen, distance prevails,
What can we do, how did we fail..
Somebody wasn't careful with our heart.
The words you said, how they tore me apart.
Whatever the outcome, at least we tried our best.
There are lies to go over, that was our test.
Nobody gets a perfect score,
But our achievements, are not to be ignored.
We did what we were supposed to do,
Nobody's business, if love wasn't true.
We can go back,
And wrestle at the facts.
But the truth will always be there,
At least you know I cared.
