I don’t even flinch anymore.
The ache is familiar now
like background noise I’ve grown used to.
I wake up tired.
Not from sleep,
but from carrying myself through days
that don’t feel like mine.

I used to shine,
or maybe I just remember it that way,
a memory I cling to because the present
feels too grey to hold.

Now everything feels far.
Like I’m behind glass,
watching life go on without me.
I laugh at the right moments.
I smile on cue.
But inside,
I am still and sinking.

There’s no fight in me today.
No reaching for the light,
no metaphors about hope.
Just stillness.
Just emptiness.

It’s not a storm.
I almost wish it was
because storms pass.
This…
just stays.

I don’t know how many times I can lose myself
before there’s nothing left to come back to.
But here I am,
losing my sparkle
again.
And I’m too quiet now
to ask anyone to notice.
