just got home.., actually I'm lying,
I just got to the place where I lay my dome..
looking around, waiting to hear my daughter
scream for her Daddy, or even her Mother
as I run to her room,
before she's out of her bed,
running down to what was,
her mother and I's bedroom...
we meet in the hallway, and I tell her that she's going the wrong way,
and Id hold her hand and take her back,
to her room, I built before she was born, yellow walls with her name in white letters
made out of wood, tuck her back in and lay down on the floor, promising my baby girl,
I wouldn't leave her alone,
till she was past out cold, and or her arms were held up over head, the same way I did when I was the same age as she is now,
and my age of 43, I still do what my daughter
does, I sleep with my arms up, dreaming that we r at a sporting event, cheering for someone...
that someone is her Father and Mother,
that still aint together, but I see her deep,
into sleep, leading a cheer,
for her parents, to beat the odds,
and get over there fears, get back together,
for only one reason,
cuz they still love each other,
not because the kids want him there,
as much as we want our children happy
it can't be at the expense, of feeling the feeling that our kids made this happen.
We gotta want it for the right reasons
as shitty as it is to say, our children can't dictate it, WE have to make the right decision
as responsible adults & parents,
I just hope it happens
like Savanna would do it,
if she was in control, of this all by herself...
she's very demanding, knows what she wants and isn't taken NO for an answer,
but like every broken family, the children
get over it much quicker, then parents
who worry about, what the kids r really thinking, cuz we will never really know,
just expect the worst and hope for best,
remember no one knows what's going on in thise heads, it could be harder on them,
then it was on her and me...
