I hate it when people say, she could be someone's sister, or mother or lover or aunt or niece or cousin or grandma or any other familial relation they could think of. They take a second to contemplate if she's worth assistance and respect. As if a woman needed to be a man's to be considered for basic human decency. Isn't she a human in herself? Doesn't she have pulse and flesh and blood? Doesn't she have thoughts and heart and wisdom? Doesn't she have wants and convictions and feelings? Why does she need to attached to a man to be considered whole? Why does she need to be defined by her nearest y chromosome for you to see her as your equal?
