This poem is dedicated to everyone with a heart who at one point in life has been let down
I had a friend
who left me with a sad story to tell,
made me stray almost to a bend,
with no one to catch me when I fell.
I had a friend
one I thought will always be there for me,
one who I thought will straighten all my bends,
she deserted me without anyone but me.
I had a friend
she left and made me lonely
when I thought all was going smoothly
she went away from me with a broken heart to mend.
I had a friend
with whom I thought I could share my all,
she shredded my heart to a rend,
and made my heart as bitter as gall.
I had a friend
one I called, until the end
I had but none to turn to when I was in the bend,
she left me alone with none
and then in my wails I remembered one,
who is God through it all,
He made me smile in times of gall,
indeed I now have a friend,
a friend who will not me rend,
He's the most loving and kind,
One who will never leave me behind,
His name is Beginning and the End.
