I miss poetry like desert misses the rain
A parched land waiting, longing in vain
For the touch of moisture, the life-giving force
To bring back the beauty that was once its source
I miss the words that flow like a river
The rhythm and rhyme that make me shiver
With every line, a new emotion to feel
Like a lover's touch that's gentle and real
Poetry is the language of the heart
The art of expression, a priceless art
It speaks of love, of pain, of joy, and of sorrow
Of the deepest feelings we can't always show
Like a desert without rain, I thirst for more
For the beauty and magic that poetry has in store
I long for the power of words that can heal
And for the stories and wisdom they reveal
So let the rain of poetry pour down on me
Let its words and rhythms set me free
And let my soul be quenched by the art
That fills the void in my longing heart.
