I NEED MY OLD LIFE BACK
What happened to the person
I once was
That loving being
Whose deeds touched souls
Before springing out of bed
I could kneel down and pray
Preach to people
During the day
Interpret the Bible to them
In a lucid way
And everyone who listened
Was filled with joy
Now I am abrasive
Supercilious and mean
My words are offensive
And I take delight in sin
Wickedness has surrounded my waist
Like a belt
Abomination is embedded
In the middle of my chest
I disobey my father
And my mother too
Everything from their lips
Makes no sense to me
How I wish
This life I live today
Could be erased
Even if it means
Returning to my mother's womb
I would gladly do that
Without any hesitation
For the path I am on
Is not safe for me
It has led many to destruction
And since I don't want to fall victim
I need my old life back
