I Remember Kemet
Before names were taken from us,
before gods were reduced to myth,
we walked with the Neteru
as principles, not idols.
Kemet was not a kingdom,
it was a code.
Ma’at in the breath,
truth in the blood,
balance in every step.
The Nile was a scripture,
writing life in flood and retreat.
Stone was taught to remember,
and temples were built
to align the soul with the stars.
We did not worship the sun,
we understood it.
Ra was consciousness in motion,
Amun the unseen source,
Osiris the law of death and return.
Anubis weighed the heart,
not the wallet.
No crown outranked righteousness.
No power escaped consequence.
Words were spells,
names were destinies,
and silence was a form of wisdom.
Then time fractured.
Invaders renamed knowledge.
Mystery became religion,
and fear replaced remembrance.
But Kemet never died,
it went underground,
into proverbs,
into drums,
into bloodlines and dreams.
Every time you choose truth over comfort,
balance over chaos,
love over domination,
you resurrect it.
Kemet lives
when the heart is lighter than the feather.
