I RISE
When I sleep, you come to me
With a chilling echo of despair.
A captive of my own wild frenzy,
while you roam through life without a care.
You're a specter lingering near,
An uninvited guest in my thoughts.
Sadness, fury, and dread entwine within me,
An unquenched void that time forgot.
It isn't just this burden I must bear,
Your fleeting gaze haunts like a thief,
A bitter memento of that fateful hour
When you stole my soul, my innocence.
In the shadows where my heart once danced,
You weave the threads of unrelenting nightmares
where I relive the affliction brought upon my heart.
Yet dawn breaks softly, whispering truth,
As hope's fragile flame flickers in the dark.
Even in sorrow, I learn to rise above
and soar like the Eagles,
Defying the weight of your cruel embrace,
Finding strength in the silence of my scars.
Taking back my strength, my life.
Taking back my dreams at night.
With each breath, I reclaim my essence,
And I emerge from the depths of despair.
You no longer have the power,
You no longer have control,
You are nothing more than a memory,
A moment in my past.
I am resilient,
I am no longer a victim,
I am not just a survivor,
I am the powerful,
The eagle that has risen
To soar above all others.
