I stopped fearing the storm
the day I realized
it always wore a familiar face,
a familiar smile,
a familiar pace...
It mocked me,
looked me in the eye,
as if to say,
"I’ve come to ruin you again"
Though that’s the funny part,
it came again... again...
The wounds I carry,
some fresh, some healed,
still scream its name.
I’ve learned to fall
and rise again...
The storm can hold me,
cradle me to sleep,
and I would let it,
I would,
knowing it will ruin me...
Because I am not afraid anymore,
I have learned to embrace the storm
as it embraces me..
forever...
