I the soul....

I often wondered, O God, why
candles attract me so,
why do the flames consume my
thoughts without much ado.
In the soft orange of its flickering flame,
I remember my true self my psyche,
the one that has no shape, no name,
and the one which is immortal with no tie.
Nor fire can burn it neither water wet it,
the air can't touch it nor the earth dirty it,
nor weapons can harm it nor kill it,
that who that is me can not die.
I the soul can't feel any pain,
and so that's why those flames
fill me with such joy not mundane,
that my essence merges with the flames.
