Ode to Lukewarm

I’m not hot like fresh coffee,

Not cold like ice in July,

I’m lukewarm — the in-between tea,

Confusing every tongue that tries.

I’m the Goldilocks of temperature,

Too shy to boil, too lazy to freeze,

I sit on the fence and order “both”,

And call it “balance” to keep the peace.

Hot says “Come on, let’s burn bright!”

Cold says “Chill, let’s keep it cool.”

Lukewarm just says “Let me think…”

And misses both the fire and the pool.

I’m the shower you argue with,

The soup that’s “almost ready” still,

The Wi-Fi with one bar left,

Loading… loading… zero thrill.

So here’s to lukewarm, the middle child,

Not bold, not brave, just comfortably mild.

But even I know, if I stay here too long…

I’ll never taste the fire, or the ice-cold song ❄️🔥
