I walk anyway
Even if the road feels heavier than my steps.
Even if I’ve tried,
and nothing changed.
My pride didn’t save me.
My effort didn’t shine.
My hope got tired
before I did.
I’m drained —
not the dramatic kind of drained,
just that quiet emptiness
that sits behind the ribs
and waits.
But I move.
I don’t even know why.
Maybe because if I stop,
I’ll disappear inside myself.
Maybe because life isn’t a choice,
not always.
Sometimes we walk
because stopping would hurt more.
Sometimes we rise
because falling is too easy.
And even when everything is against me,
even when my legs want to quit,
I keep going.
Not because I’m strong
but because this is my life,
and I’m still in it.
I walk.
And that is enough
for today.
