I want to take a step and run,
So far and fast as I can,
To that place that's far and beyond,
I don't know where,
But it can be anywhere,
I just want to go and disappear,
To that place that's different from here,
Run so far away from all that I fear,
Getting there is all I wish I could,
It may be deep in the woods,
Or maybe up in the sky next to the moon,
But it's a place I can find love and loyalty,
I want to keep moving even if it takes flying,
To that place where there's only me and my dreams,
a place colored in truth and the promises,
Maybe if I had my wings I would dive into the sky,
Take the clouds and lead me to wherever,
that place where joy is forever,
that's where my soul will stick forever,
It's a place where regret is a never,
It's a place I can hear hope in a whisper,
I want to take a step and run,
till I get to that voice of reason,
Just far enough from this deafening chaos.
