I WEAR MY POPPY WITH PRIDE

I wear my poppy on my lapel.
I wear it with much pride.
I may not have known the fallen
But
I feel much pain inside.
My heart is broken by so much conflict
That for not just months but for years
I feel the fear of war ever increasing
As it reduces me to tears.
Soldiers and heroes of bygone years
And those who still fight today
May we pray that their families find
Peace and love
Where we hope that it will stay.
And as we bow our heads for two minutes
Silence
May we reflect on both the past and what may
Lie ahead.
And let us come together in memory of
The living and the dead.
