I'll not conform to society's norm And write of God, my spirit to transform Though some may say I'll never be great I'll speak my truth, it's my fate
I'll not be swayed by their judgmental frown For in my words, my soul wears the crown I'll not be silenced, my voice will be heard And through my poetry, my spirit is stirred
I'll not conform to their narrow views For in my poetry, my spirit renews I'll write of love, of hope, and of grace And in this way, I'll leave my mark on this place
So let them scoff and say I'll never be known For in my poetry, my spirit has grown I'll not conform, but be true to my soul And in this way, I'll be a poet whole.
