I wish I could feel whole,
like a newborn
soft, unbroken,
untouched by aches
or the weight of living.
To breathe without heaviness,
to move without pain,
to wake without worry
to carry a body
that feels as light as a soul.
But even in the cracks,
I remind myself:
wholeness is not the absence of pain,
it is the courage to keep living
in spite of it.
