i wonder
sometimes i wonder if the world will ever let us grow old together or if we’re just a beautiful almost stretching across the years
people say childhood love never survives that it burns out that it grows up and forgets what it once felt but god—then i think about us
how no matter the distance no matter the silence we always find our way back like our hearts kept a map long before we knew how to read it
there’s something aching in the way we return like the universe keeps tugging us by the seams pulling us togethereven when we swear we’re done even when it hurts to hope again
and i can’t help but think maybe we’re not meant to fademaybe we’re the rare kind the kind that aches the kind that stays the kind that was written long before we were born
maybe that’s why it still feels like love even after all these years
