"I would probably reminisce about the moments I have lost with you."
Pounder about wonders you experienced after what we went through.
"I would be afraid to approach you"
The guilt would feed of the minimal courage I saved for when I see you.
"I'd smile at how much you've grown, cry at the noticeable difference in tone, body language and the manner in which you carry yourself." But hide that glow I shared when our souls were still one since that promise ring gently touched my skin and I eventually froze.
"I'd probably wonder if you've learnt to love again" Or if love never sailed into foreign lands where my eyes could peacefully find it again.
I would probably be anxious scramble for words lost in the desert sands like when we met for the first time and she/he looked into my soul through my teary eyes and said that rememberable line:
Hi, I am ... (Pause) –
It was at that moment in time I had filled my mind with visions that hardly transpire but when captured tasted like red wine.
"I would tell you about how I told the stars about you. How I held conversations with no one. conversations filled with honeyed regrets and sour hesitance salted with memories from back then. I would feel the weight of the necklace that held the ring I once wore with pride and crumble at how I now hide it like I would a shameful scar.
I would tell you that I am sorry,
I would apologize for the hollow laughs we used to share...."
I would apologize for discomfort I caused you when our forever ended in 6 months
when my gentle voice became thunderous
and when I made my hands connect with your body forcefully way more than I would like to admit"
If i were to see you again,
i would kiss the scars, i mean stars that are on your body, i would cherish the vulnerability you trusted again to give me
"i would hold you"
the way i shouldve when i found out you were leaving. Tightly
and i would never let go
