He closes his eyes real tight
As he stares into the night
The overwhelming darkness
Reminds him of this mess
How did he get to this place
So close to winning the race
But now at his slowest pace
Is this the end that he face
One by one the others pass
And he's just ran out of gas
His spirit, more than willing
Now his very body is stalling
He was prepared for sure
It's more than he can endure
His only hope is to finish it
So he knows he cannot quit
Slowly he is gaining ground
The final lap comes around
And he sees the finish line
Out of the race but it is fine
Next time he'll push harder
Finishing is all that matter
As he's falling to the ground
And he rest gotta go around
In he's head he ended last
But in fact he was really fast
So if he would have given up
He wouldn't reach the top
It may seems you won't make it
But you won't know if you quit
