I'M A MAN; I'M HUMAN TOO

Christianity lures me
Islam drags me
Religion desires my followership
They seek to control me
Telling me what they define as wrong and right
They say I'm a free moral agent
Yet want to deny me of same freedom
To deny myself and follow them they want
I'm crucified for fulfilling the desires of my flesh
Before the preacher man came
I have been in the game
of being human
Before I agreed with him
and believed
Being human is the life I've simply lived
The God that made me gave me no religion
But a relationship to keep
He showed me no man to hate
But all men to love
My father's showed me a God
Who preserves life
And teaches man same
If I fail to keep your ordinance
If I indulge my body in its cravings
That is because after all,
I'm a man and I'm human too
