From the looks, I'm stark white
No one would guess I'm raised in Black delight
In a neighborhood of color and pride
I share in the good times they provide
My Queenly Mom, she played a part
I'm a little bit different, so how can I not start?
White or Black, I don't see the divide
My daughters chose true love in opposite sides
My limits, I thought, were so very few
I never imagined life could be so new
As sunlight bright through the darkest of night
I'm free of judgement, celebrating the fight
The personified breeze in the air is cool
Color is nurtured, and unity the rule
So no matter hue of your sweetheart tonight
Love expands the heart, with warmth and delight
