I’m trying so hard to get my GoFundMe out there because with how the healthcare system is, I genuinely need help. And I finally got to 61, so yay for passing my first goal. But honestly, this whole journey has been so discouraging sometimes. I never really posted or commented online before this. I didn’t even have most social media platforms until I started trying to raise money for a wheelchair. So now it feels like 99% of the comments I get are hate comments. I keep getting my hopes up thinking someone is taking an interest or maybe wants to help, but then it’s just another cruel comment. One person got mad because one of my photos mentioned affirmations and didn’t specifically say “be kind to others.” Another person said it was terrible of me to ask for help for a medical device because I was wearing makeup. Someone even called me an OF bot. I’m just trying to get help for a wheelchair and share my story.
