Imprisoned By Self Harm

Scabs and scars, still my wounds spread.
Don’t sew me up; fuck that thread.
You ask why I’m bleeding red,
it’s from the walls in my head.

Imprisoned by thoughts, I’m in jail.
Want to get out, but there’s no bail.
The air in this dungeon is growing stale;
Try to breathe, but there’s nothing to inhale.

These four walls trap me inside,
Racing thoughts, there’s nowhere to hide
Won’t cry out with all this pride,
Years ago all my tears dried.

So fucking empty, could barely feel,
Like I’m not behind my own wheel.
To my skin I press the stainless steel.
Another wound, I’ll try to conceal.

On my chest, it’s all weighted,
And my stomach completely rotated.
It’s not even myself that I hated,
The whole wide world has me agitated.

Everyone’s wondering how I’ve been,
But I don’t even know how I feel within.
Everyone’s watching, so I take it on the chin.
The walls are coming, they’re closing in.

Within this ward, I might die,
Not quite sure why I try.
Still with these meds I comply,
In hopes out of this cage I will fly.
