In her Heart, In his Pages.

For a girl that once stood tall,
Believed in fate and God's call,
Tuned the whispers of the ones that wanted to see her fall,
She was a force to reckon in every hall.
For she has seen and heard it all,
Some part of her believed their words,
She couldn't lie,
The words punctured like a poisonous sword,
She tried not to let her guard down,
But, it was too hard to hold the tears and the frown.
She tried every possible technique to erase their bitterness,
Nothing changed still, their venom already sunk in,
She shut the doors of happiness and succumbed to their every word.
She lived like this for years,
Accepted all the fears.
Imagine, she was once a girl on fire!
They extinguished every flame,
But, they're not to blame,
She believed.
Outside of her façade,
Someone still saw light in her heart,
Wrote poems about her blinding and striking beauty,
Not just on the outside but inside,
He vowed to show her,
So, she could see the life he sees.
She stumbled on a mysterious paper,
It was a drawing and poem describing her,
It told her “to look up to the sky, that there's Beauty in every silver lining”,
She cracked a smile.
She was still tied by the shackles of the devil,
But,
She was willing to take off the veil and try again.
