We grew up on the streets,
Where the street lights were the only hope we could reach,
And the name that painted our agonized lips was the prince of peace,
Pedestrians saw a walk way but we saw a bed we could sleep,
We lived luxurious lives in our dreams,
Were we thought of the waves, clouds and seas,
Of the money, the cars and the future billionaire we would be,
Our breakfast was a plate of hope and dinner was faith in the ones who would give,
Our clothing had different shades of red for the bloods we bleed,
"Blue" for the sadness and the grief,
"Red" for I give up and accept defeat,
"Black" for hopelessness and unanswered pleas,
It was like the coat of many colours but this time it was just a caused gift,
From our parents to us on the day we were conceived,
Cars drove down the road but we plied the lane of uncertainty,
Begging God each day to take away this entity,
Some got out without getting hit,
While others rest their head on the Angels wings,
Praying that one day we would walk on clouds and not the devil's feet.
