On these winter nights so cold and stark,
Our souls entwined, a journey embarks,
Stay close to me, be the light in my eyes,
Let go of regrets, let love suffice.
But look at me now, torn and adrift,
Like a discarded doll, my heart you just riffed,
I have nothing left to offer, it seems,
If only you'd let me rest and mend my dreams.
I promise to be better, to give so much more,
To fight for our love, my heart to restore,
But you deny me that chance, that plea,
So what do you want, what will it be?
In the glimmer of the night, the sky's sweet shimmer,
I'm playing a fool's game, my love a mere glimmer,
Lost in darkness, yet guided by your light,
I dance in shadows, under stars so bright.
Within this cold life, my hands are not real,
I'll plant them with Forough's, a love's appeal,
They'll be warm, I know, as they touch the soil,
Where pens take root and stories uncoil.
In a green Spring, on Maple tree's leaves,
They'll write poems that the birds will perceive,
Reciting them to passengers who pass by,
And to the shadow dwellers, their spirits will fly.
I know, I know, this path may seem unclear,
But in these words, my love holds dear,
A plea for understanding, a desire to be seen,
In a better version of this poem, my love, serene.
