The air thick with toxins choke me
While the black smoke restricts my vision
I can feel a raging heat scratching my skin
Screams from above overpower the sound of crackling flames
Their screams wail with agony and eventually cease
With the smoke growing and my field of view shrinking I begin to accept my fate
A painful death consisting of suffocation and being charred
I lose my balance as the building trembles
Falling to the heated surface my skin is tormented by an unbearable prickling sensation
My eyes are red and puffy as my lungs begin to fail me
Sadly a happy ending is not in sight
I can scarcely hear the sirens ringing from the fading distance
My body has no energy left
The heat has started to become soothing as I lose all sense of reality
I close my eyes awaiting the inevitable
