Innocent eyes stare back at me,
Ignorant of the world
How could someone hurt him,
Make him shy and not forward
The pain he has suffered in all his short years
The times I have sat up at night
Held him, dried his tears
I may just be his sister, but he's pretty much mine alright?
Because when he would sleep
I'd be right there by his side.
I cried the day I moved away,
knowing it'd be a long time
Before I would see him again
Hold him, tell him he'll always be mine
The people that had hurt him, cause him all this pain
Were people who were supposed to love him,
Shelter him from the rain
So when he asked the question "Why ?"
I had to fight to keep myself standing, from falling on my knees
Because when I looked into my brother's face
The one thing I always counted on
Was his innocence, it was nowhere, not one trace
So in this closing I say, my glory and my prize
Was the joy I felt when once again
I saw his innocent eyes
