Instead of Love

Taking a look at her unfamiliar reflection, with a long glimpse into her own miserable, green eyes
wondering if the solicitous girl she once knew was somewhere deep inside
Eyes scouring her red and purple-painted neck, From a mouth so animalistic, she now wears disrespect
She slightly shakes her head, with feelings of regret
But she can't give it up, because this affection was better than feeling loneliness' neglect
Something she had been deprived of for so long, but she knew it felt so wrong
Her eyes fill up with tears, but not measurable to the pain that's been suppressed underneath
Not even her own father had ever kissed her cheek
Wiping warm, trickling tears away, she realized she deserved to be told she was beautiful
An honest man to justify what was owed to her, and feel real, indisputable
Perhaps she was settling, fearing that otherwise, the hole that remain deep and bleeding in her heart would never heal
But picking at an open wound, made her lose her sense to feel...
