On this journey
I have set out to find
my missing piece
Before the gate I stand
Hope and a lantern in hand
before me the scent of fire
pain everlasting agony
I must now set my cowardice aside
one last look at the Sunset
above the Sea
contrasting the horizon pallet
painting the canvas skies
I shall decend
from this world
and bring forth
this peace I've been reaching for
within
Below me
the ground is uneven
it sets itself out of place
I cross through the gate
with every second passing
Sand dropping from time
my heart beats heavy
I now look at darkness
the winds move gently
starting from my feet
moving upon the skin
something breathes down my neck
I must continue forward
my hopes I shall hold tight
I must continue quickly
before I lose my only light
I worry now
must my heart accept this deceit
I can feel the embers burning
below My feet.
Continuing forward down
a spiraling path
I approach a crater in the ground
Take a step forward
upon the decent I go
My heart I'm sorry
please be at my side
wherever we may go
down here
Into the Inferno.
