It's so sad to see kids and system get beat to death
Always in that flight or fight mode
And more times than not you are going to fight
Because that is your survival instinct
I know that growing up in foster care is not easy
Some outgrow the system
Some end up being adopted
Just know that no matter what happens you are invincible
No I don't know your past
But I do know that you are a fighter
Everything happens for a reason
Tough times don't last but tough people do
Every battle you face is to make you a stronger person
I just wish that everybody had family and friends that they could trust
We all need a support in our life
And to all the foster parents out there don't do it for the money
All we ever asked for it was love and support
Someone who will accept us for who we are
I am adopting myself and I will tell you how it made me feel
It made me feel angry that they would abandon me like that
It made me feel sad because I felt unwanted
But you see what I did was I created my own family
Family is not who is related to you by blood
But who chose to stick with you through everything
At times it might feel like the world is against you
But I know that you are loved
Even if you feel like nobody cares
Know that I care!
